W2K SBS & W2K3 Standard

by kirkwilliams . Updated 21 years, 5 months ago

Ok I’m having an issue with this. I have the following conditions:

-Windows Server 2000 Small Business Server (domain controller, exchange, file,…)
-4 Windows XP Pro sp1 clients

There were able to see the server at this time. Now I added the following:

-Windows Server 2003 Standard (for file storage only, not a domain controller)

The Windows Server 2000 SBS and see the Windows Server 2003 Standard (shared files, etc through network neighborhood) and vice versa. Now none of the Windows XP Pro machines can see either one of the file server through network neighborhood.

I can ping the name of server1(w2k), but not server2(w2k3). I can only ping the w2k3 server by the ip address. I checked the dns on w2k and the w2k3 server is listed.

Help? Thanks!
