Windows 98 PC with 3COM905C NIC fails to resolve assigned DHCP IP address at boot. Running WINIPCFG Renew resolves correct IP address. It appears to select the default stack “169.265.etc….” at boot. Is there a registry setting that can be deleted that identifies this “bogus” IP address that appears to be prevending DCHP from assigning the PCs assigned network TCP/IP address.
