WAN simulators

I am looking for a good WAN simulator to help me in testing (which includes both functional and performance testing) a WAN optimization product.
Typically the simulator should help me in simulating different types of networks such as wireless, satellite, terrestrial, Internet, etc… including bandwidth, packloss, delay, jitter, etc…
Being a new bee to testing involved with network I am unable to zero down to the best one.
