I’ve seen this once before, and don’t like it. Installed a 7200 RPM drive in an older PC (Pentium & Pentium II) and on a cold start, it comes up with a Primary Disk Failure. After reboot, possibly several tries, the drive comes up and functions properly. Short shutoffs don’t experience the problem. Only after the PCs are shut off for an extended period of time, ie 8 hours or more, does this happen. Refrigerating the system, does not change the boot problem, ie it doesn’t affect the PC at all. Does anyone have any ideas?
