Web design degree

This question is for web designers/developers. I was working as a Systems Admin for a few years. I have a degree in Information Tech (BIT). I’m currently on disability and looking to supplement my income. I have had a few classes dealing with HTML/CSS/Java. I’m not proficient with Web design and have only done it as a hobby. Should I go back and get a two year degree? Is web design/developer a growing field? I’m looking to work from home and maybe start a business. I’m hoping to get off of disability at some point. Any advice or pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
