Web page routing

We have a win 2000 server domain (example.com) set up in our local office. We also have a web page on a third party server (earthlink) with the same domain name. Within the office, clients are not able to view the webpage on the third party server, I assume it is trying to find the web page locally. I tried to set up a static IP route, www.example.com to the third party IP address. That didn’t do it. Where do I go from here?
