Web Server Oracle database connection

I have a web server that is in the DMZ. I also have a NT server on the corporate internal network. This server is running Oracle 8. I would like to have customers from around the world to view the web server and have the web server pull information from the internal Oracle server. How do I accomplish this? Do I have to open a port in the firewall? Do I need additonal software? This is a very important project I am working on. I would appreciate any assistance. It is worth many many points..Thank you.
