Just wanted to know if anyone ever came across a similar issue.
I setup VPN on my domain controller (win2k). It’s also running DNS and DHCP.
I have 2 NICS in the machinE:
NIC 1 – 192.168.X.X
NIC 2 – 10.X.X.X
Prior to setting up RRAS, everything is working great. All machines can ping everyone and everyone is happy.
After setting up RRAS as a VPN server, using the wizard, all communication stops. The RRAS machine can’t ping other machines by IP. You get ‘Destination host unreachable’.
If you try to ping the RRAS machine from another machine, it times out.
As soon as I disable RRAS, everything is back to normal.
I’ve checked everything again and again and was stuck.
Here’s the weird part. I setup RRAS again, but when using the wizard, instead of choosing ‘VPN Server’, I chose ‘Setup connections manually’.
After that, everything was working great. My settings were identical to when I chose ‘vpn server’ from before. Nothing has changed except the choice made in the configuration wizard.
Has anyone ever seen this before?
