What happened to my open windows?

I turned on my computer, and discovered that my language bar had taken over my entire bottom taskbar. Whenever I get rid of the language bar, the taskbar disappears entirely, and when I hit the Windows key, the Start Menu appears in the top-left corner of the screen. How do I get my currently opened windows back?
