what is a 128 bit firewall?

Hi all,
want to know what is a 128 bit firewall I know one person who is writing it. But i dont understand, a firewall is either host based or network based but all it do is read the packets and filter them so where the question of 128 bit encryption or security comes in?

any one could say something on it?
