What is cloud computing?

I have been getting all this information on cloud computing in emails from Techrepublic for months. A couple of major essential pieces of information elude me.

1) What is cloud computing?
2) What can I do with it in the enterprise and at home?

Besides those two major questions, How do our end users on the network use it?
