What is the best way to clone/image computers?

I have approximately 25 computers in a lab that all need to be wiped and have Windows XP and apps reinstalled. I hate to buy 25 licenses of Symantec Ghost or similar software. I’d like to set up one system the way we need it including desktop shortcuts, files, etc, then clone that one to the others. Can someone provide a solution? There is no server and they are on p2p network.
