I am not sure if I should be posting this as a question or a discussion but here goes…
I own a small systems integration company and I am working with a client that is looking to centralise their file/mail applications (looking to use exchange) for ease of management, bandwidth, backup, redundancy. At the moment they have 1 central office with a SBS server and 15 users and approximately 50 remote (laptop users that could in the future connect from anywhere there is an internet connection) users. In 3 years time, it is anticipated that there will be 300-350 remote users. These users also like to use other apps (word, excel and others) offline as well.
My thinking was to deploy terminal services or possibly citrix (I dont know much about citrix at this stage).
What I would like is to have people who know or who have done similar things to talk about some general principles about this type of project.
e.g. How does terminal services compare with citrix in price/capabilities?
Is terminal services/citrix the way to go? (they will be using a windows environment – but definitely NOT vista) or are there better alternatives?
Thank you for any feedback/ideas that you post.
P.S. – I am new here and I just read and contributed my first post to the “how to hack lan” question. I am not dodgy I promise!
