Whats a good blank DVD media Brand?

for backing up dvd movies?

I have tried Sony, Memorex, and verbatim (they are ok for data).
These 3 always let me down. The movies always start skipping 1/2 to 3/4 ways through the movie. My father-inlaw gave me some blank Dvds (can remember the brand) and they work great.
