What’s the best text editor/complier to use for HTML and Java coding?

I have a ENVY HP laptop x360. I’ve started learning HTML/CSS and JavaScript and Java programming for the computer on Codeacademy and want to practice more on my own from what I learn.

What the best complier/text editor to use? In high school we used Notepad ++ and BlueJay but that was a few years ago.
