when i attempt to join my domain i get: network path was not found

I unplugged the network cable from my desktop, WinXP Pro SP2,(which I successfully logged into the server) and plugged it into my laptop, runnning WinXP Pro SP2, trying to join my network domain. The server is running Windows Server 2000. I get a message stating network path was not found. I’ve tried disabling the firewall/antivirus. All other pcs on network are having NO issues.
