Which is berrer Career In Software Testing and Software Development

Currently I am working as software developer. As per my own observations I always like to test application rather than making program.I am very much interested in software testing.
I would like to get guidance related to career in software testing instated of career in software development. Also I would like to know about some points like advantages and disadvantages of career in software testing,pay scale and future scope in software testing.
Another thing I would like to know is how I can switch from current profession to testing if decided as career path.
