I’m the only user of my Shuttle SFF WinXPSP2 PC that I built a year ago. It’s working great-have AV et al-no malware, no rootkits. My problem? When I shutdown my PC and turn off the surgebar switch, I don’t know whether my PC will boot next time I try! Sometimes it posts and boots; sometimes the power and HDD lites are on but no post and no boot; sometimes neither the power lite or HDD lite come on and then I suspect power supply failure. I swear I do absolutely nothing to my PC between unsuccessful and successful boots! I always wait at least 15 minutes between tries. My Bios boot order is CDRom-HDD-Floppy. No CD or floppy is in its drive. When an unsuccessful boot occurs, my 19″ LCD Proview monitor remains dark so there are no error messages. I’m open to suggestions, hints, or solutions.
