Why can’t I veiw files in folders listed in disk cleanup?

When I use the disk cleanup feature in Wndows 7 and select a folder to view the files in it, such as temporary internet, and then click on view files the folder displayed says that it is empty even though the cleanup list shows that it contains many kbs.
