Why doesn’t my LCD recognize my new VGA Cable?

The old VGA Cable connecting my 17 inch LCD with my computer broke some pins and I had to chang it. I bought a new one, almost identical to that one. I connected it and switched on the computer. It starts normally, the Windows logo appears, but the moment it is about to shom the desktop, the screen goes black and it says: No Cable. The cable works well on another computer, it is well connected, yet I can’t use it. Any suggestions? Ideas? Anything?
