Win 2003 Shared Printers

by rickster06 . Updated 18 years, 11 months ago

When users submit a print job to any networked shared printer on the server, it duplicates the share printer and creates a additional printer for each job submitted. Example, I send a print job to admin printer and a admin printer session 1 is created, job prints and then the additional print stays in the shared printer list as admin printer session 1. It can even mapped to as it shows up in user list to map. If you submit another job to he admin share, it creates admin printer session 2 and so on. I haveseen 10 printers which are all the same printer. You can delete the additional printers but when someone submits another print job to admin, it creates them again. I am seeing this on a older network and on a new network that is not connected to my old one at all. Has anyone ever seen this and if so how to stop. I’m thinking I have be patched? Have not made any changes to older network and the new one is a standard win 2003 install with latest patches.
