Typically I won’t post questions like this about event log error’s that are defined all over the internet, but i’ve been through all of those internet Problem/Fix pages, and none of them work.
I’ve got a WinXP machine here that is getting the following error in the event log:
Event: 1053
Source: Userenv
Windows cannot determine the user or computer name. (An internal error occurred. ). Group Policy processing aborted.
The weird thing is, this error only is genterated between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m., of course no one in my company works that late so I don’t know where the heck these could be coming from. Also, the strange Userenv message is appearing on several PC’s and Servers throughout my network at wee hours of the morning.
Anyone ever seen this before?
