Win2000 Server demotion fails

by angelo . Updated 18 years, 2 months ago

Hello,

I have a W2K DC with Exchange 2000 installed on it. I recently built a W2K3 server, made it a DC and GC and transfered all FSMO roles to it. It is also acting as my DNS and DHCP server.

I would like to demote my W2K server but while its removing Active Directory it fails with the error “The remote procedure call failed” and tells me it will reboot.

I looked at the dcpromo.log but there isin’t much info in there.

What could be going on? What is causing the error?

Thanks for all the help.
