Win2K Dial in

by whyme? . Updated 24 years, 2 months ago

Hi

I ‘ve got a win2k server with an ISDN (used for internet and email) and a modem attatched (used for dialing in for file access). Right, when the machine isn’t dialed on to the net, a user can dial into the server and access the hard drive, seeand update files, retrieve mail using Vpop etc.

But when the machine is dialed onto the net through the ISDN and the user dials in throught the modem then they can’t access the hard drive of the server. They can still retrieve mail using Vpop, and they can also ping the server but can’t browse the hard drive contents. (Error msg saying ‘\\name The network name cannot be found’ same goes if you put the IP of the machine in.

I’m lost, anyone who can shed some light?
