I have W2KPro on my machine. I tried to burn CD’s using Adeptec first then NCI. Both programs said there was no CDR in the computer (which there is). Thinking maybe the CDRW (2001 model) needed a firmware update, I updated it. Still no luck. Checked to be sure the jumpers were correctly set, cabels all connected properly etc.
Now system won’t reboot. Tried clearing BIOS. Still no boot. System isn’t recognizing either the HDD or the floppy drive for emergency boot.
When I built this system 2 months ago W2KP wouldn’t load until I disabled the L2 Cache, kept missing files (it’s 2.5Ghz with 1G DDRam)telling me they weren’t there.
Both roms are functioning..HDD is spinning… no boot. No new equipment was added, nothing removed, same motherboard etc. Cables are all connected correctly, power is good. I simply can not fathom what the issue is that is keeping it from booting.
Anybody out there have a clue how to fix this problem? I’m frantic! Need that box bad!
