WIN98 SE – Internet Connection Sharing –

My Microsoft based, file-sharing network works fine. When I try to add Internet Connection Sharing to my computer so that the attached desktop can access the web when I am online, I loose all TCP-IP content access (AIM, MSIExplorer, & Netscape web pages all time out & can’t find any servers). The attached computer gains full TCP-IP access. I dialup through AOL and AOL functions work, but no web functions will work. I have to uninstall ICS and restore a backup copy of my registry to regain web/TCP-IP access.

I believe that ‘ICS’ either fails to change a TCP-IP setting to work properly, or it changes something in my registry, that it should not.

I am running Windows 98 Second Edition on a Gateway Solo 9300 laptop with a 400 mhz PII, and 128MB RAM.
