Please need help, problem is making me nuts. Here is what I have.
1 Linksys Router WRT54G – wireless G
2 Linksys PCI WMP54G wireless Adapters G
One work station is XP PRO SP2. The other workstation is Win98. The XP box can connect to the Internet via the wireless adapter. The XP box can see the Win98 computer. The XP box can ping both by domain name and IP address. The XP box is working fine. XP ipconfig is 192.168.1.100
Gateway is 192.168.1.1 mshome is group and ssid is default linksys for now, it will be changed after we fix problem. Not using ICS on either computer.
the 98 box can see the XP box, the 98 box can ping router gateway, can ping itself at 192.168.1.101 and can ping the XP box at 192.168.1.100. It can also ping outside IP numbers, such as 216.109.112.135. But it cannot ping by ip name, such as a ping yahoo.com returns the error “cannot fine dns server”.
Any help would be appreciated!
