Windowns 2003 server “preparing network connection” takes forever

Hi, I have a problem. I’ve just installed the AD and DNS on my windows 2003 server and when I restarted the machine, it has been “preparing network connection” for the last hour. What’s causing it and how should I login? Thanks for any help.
