Hey all,
We’ve recently upgraded several systems in our office to Windows 11 Pro, and about half of them are now intermittently failing to install specific cumulative updates (most recently with KB5039302). The error codes vary — often showing 0x800f0922 or 0x80070002.
Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
Running Windows Update Troubleshooter
Clearing the SoftwareDistribution and Catroot2 folders
DISM and SFC scans (no integrity violations found)
Disabling third-party antivirus during updates
A few of the machines updated fine after 2–3 retries, but others are still stuck. We use Intune and Windows Update for Business policies for deployment, if that’s relevant.
Anyone else running into this on enterprise or SMB setups?
Is it a known issue with the update channel or something I should troubleshoot deeper per machine?
Appreciate any insights or workarounds — even if it’s just confirming you’re seeing the same thing.
Thanks in advance!
