Windows 2000 and DOS

I have an old Q&A 4.0 DOS application migrated to a Windows 2000 professional desktop unit. All works expect printing. It says memory is low. The unit has 512MB of RAM. I realize DOS is no longer part of the Microsoft OS but isn’t thier a setting that will allow for older applications to print?
