Windows 2000 security and VPN

We are in the process of migrating network security to windows 2000 (not native at this time) from Novell, however if we enforce password expiry dates, this could cause a problem for our VPN users. If they change their password via VPN, it does notchange the local profile (they are not logging in using dialup networking)
Does anyone know how to refresh a local user profile during the current session, without logging out?
