Windows 2000 Server doesn’t Recognise Temperory Office Files!

by hazems_2000 . Updated 19 years, 3 months ago

I’m running Windows 2000 as a file server. This server has a storage drive that is used by everyone in the company. Users used to have a Full permission.

Recently, I had to restrict permissions so users have all permissions but not to delete files or folders.

The problem is, all users have Windows XP and Microsoft Office 2003 installed and every time they access word or Excel document a Temporary file is created. In fact multiple Temporary files are created out of control which wasting space on the server.

I was told the problem is Windows 2000 server doesn’t recognize Temporary file so it wouldn’t destroy these files upon closing.

Any help or advice will be appreciated. This problem is driving me crazy.
