Windows 2000 Server problem

Hi,

I am trying to setup a Windows 2000 server on an old server machine I have come across. I have installed only the o/s but my problem is that it keeps freezing up (keyboard and mouse not responding) just after I have logged in using the Administrator account. If I enter the wrong password on the login screen the machine will freeze then too. Strangely enough I can get into the system using Safe Mode and it works fine, I have tried creating another account with admin properties but the machine freezes on this account too but works fine in safe mode. Any suggestions on this ?
