Windows 2000 server, WindowsMe and ICS

I am trying to configure a WindowsME client to preform Internet Connection sharing on a domain with a PDC win2000 server. The server is performing dhcp and Wins services. My difficulty is that when i configure ICS on my client its ip address for the nic is changed to a fix address outside of my subnet. This prevents the client from being able to connect to the network.

How can i fix this
