windows 2000 vpn server

Hello,
i have installed windows 2000 vpn server. I put 2 NIC label PUBLIC and the other PRIVATE. I noticed that once i up the VPN server on RRAS the PRIVATE interface cannot ping same subnet it prompt me with error message “Destination host unreachable” but once i disable the VPN server RRAS i can ping same subnet.
