So I have a Windows 2003 Server (a vps not dedicated).
This server however does not belong to me, it is a friends who allows me to use it, while he is not on the technical side of using windows, I figured I’d try to solve, so heres what happened.
Apparently he accidentally changed the TCPIP configuration to automatically detect an ip address, which wouldn’t work, because they have assigned fixed ip address’s to the box.
Now my problem, since tech support had to actually fix it themselves, they decided to hide the nic.
I can see it in the system manager, and its working just fine according to what it says.
But whenever I load a internet browser, it crashes, and so does drwtsn32.exe (which loads during the crash, and crashes too)
I can access ip configuration which doesn’t seem to do much good..
And I can remote desktop to the computer.. but beyond remote desktoping i can have no out bound connections going.
All because they hid my network connection.. and blocked off all the properties, so now that i’m done explaining, my goal is to unlock what they have hidden so i can fix what the tech “fixed”.
Any solutions..?
