Windows 2003 server and AD

I have a problem. Our PDC just died. Lucky for us we have a second DC running so the network is running for the moment.. My question is. Can i replace the PDC with a new one without loosing my AD. If i install a new 2003 server and then replicate with the old 2000 DC will it delete all my users?
