Windows 2003 Server – BLACK SCREEN appears after MS Logo

I’m having a problem with a Windows Server 2003. It boots up fine and then the Microsoft Windows 2003 Server Logo appears, the status bar underneath the Logo pauses for a second then starts back up again (processing…) Then the screen goes to black and hangs up.

Any thoughts on how I can resolve this? Thanks in advance for your help.
