I just installed windows 2003 server and no matter what I do (in my limited realm of knowledge), the computer can’t seem to see that the router is there. No connecting, no pinging, no grabbing an IP address. My current settings are:
1 DHCP on router is on, on the computer its off (i’m pretty sure)
2 Load balancing is not on (the box is not checked in the connection properties window
3 I have tried setting the server to grab an IP address off the router and have tried assiging it a specific one (even setting the router to give the server a specific ip address per is mac address)
4 I have tried setting the DNS server to the DSL modem, the router, ther server, and a WAN dns server all with no luck
I do have another Domain on the same LAN but I have been told that this shouldn’t matter when I am simply trying to connect to the router. Plus the router is the DHCP server for that domain.
Any suggestions?
