Windows 7 VPN issue

We use the Cisco VPN Client (v5.0.04.300). I’ve seen other issues with installing the VPN Client but they all seem to center around getting BSODs. The client installs fine, and even seems to connnect fine, but if I try to ping a server, open our intranet page, open my email, etc none of it connects. What am I missing?
