Windows 98 and Internet

To a Tech Republic Member Troubleshooter,

I sure could use some assistance or at least a logical sequence of steps to follow in solving a
client problem. My client runs Windows 98 and
uses a cable connection for the Internet.Upon logging on tothe Net,the client experiences a
complete freeze up of the entire system. According to the client,the sequence of freezes is always
six mouse strokes and then the big freeze-up.Any suggestions on where to begin the seach for a solution ? Thank you,
