Windows 98 not recognized on NT Network

Here’s my problem. I have a win98 machine on an NT network. The 98 machine can access files on the NT server. It can also browse the network thru network neighborhood. But the 98 machine cannot be seen by any NT machines thru network neighborhood. When I go into server manager on the NT server, the 98 machine is “dimmed” and when I try to access it’s properties, I get the message “the network path cannot be found”. Also the 98 machine cannot access the exchange server. It does not seem to matter whether I create a computer account in the domain or not. The 98 machine can still access files on the network. I’m confused and I need help!
