Hello. I have networked 2 computers, but they will not ICS (internet connection share) VIA AOL 8.0. (dialup) I have heard that the only reason this is is because the one computer is Win98 service pack 1 and it needs to be 2 or a newer OS. Concitering the modem I have on that Machine is 14.4, updating any software takes HOURS, and the 2 HDD’s I have are only 800 megs + 1.05 gigs in size. By using Windows Update, the computer will just update features, not service packs, correct? Is there any wayin heck that I can upgrade this computer with the minimal amount of storage space possible so I can ICS with the other XP Pro machine? Or should I seriously consider buying a bigger HDD and installing that clean with WinXP or Win2k or any different OS than stupid Windows 98, the bane of my existance… Replies would be great…and thank you for your time.
