Windows 98 Shutdown Problem

Have installed Windows 98 SE from a ghost image. Computer hangs at shutdown. Have disabled sound , disconnected from network and deleted Office 97 find fast and other file(?).Computer takes 5 minutes to shutdown. Please help! Are there any updates/downloads to fix this problem?
