windows 98

My father will not go further yet from his Windows 98. He seldom uses the internet except for banking and a couple of sites. He had AVG 7.5 until it was no longer useful and AVG does not support 98 any longer. Is there a anti-virus protection site/download/? that would keep his system up to date still? He has a solid HP and is in his 70’s, does not want to ‘change.’ Also- when I convince him to purchase a new pc, is it fairly simple to transfer his files over to the new desktop? Thank you! Ann
