Windows Firewall ICS file cant start

by daniel.lee.54 . Updated 17 years, 7 months ago

I have recently installed a downloaded copy of XP Media Center 2005 Sp3 for my AMD (I am aware of the conflicting issues with this oem and that its mainly designed for intel)

When I go to access the firewall, it comes up with the following message

“Windows Firewall is not running the Internet Connection Service (ICS) would you like to run it.”

I click Ok, and then it says

“Windows failed to start the Internet Connection Service (ICS)”

and then i have to click Ok, and can’t access anything.

I installed the media center by an update from XP SP2 (cracked to activate) as I couldn’t burn the downloaded OEM to a disk. (if that helps?)

ANY IDEAS???
