Weirdest thing. I have installed this OS at least three times already. 2 out of three have given me this strange; albeit annoying, situation. Windows ME does not want to shut down. After selecting shut down from the Start Menu programs, then selecting SHUT DOWN, the OS appears to power down all devices but the power light remains on and there is no indication (sound) that the system has shut down. There is no confirmation text during the shutdown that would signify a shutdown (familiar with WIN9X versions). I have tried the regedit to change the value of the reboot (0 to 1 and vise versa) with no success. Any other possible reasons for this mystery?
I have an ATX SOYO MB w/ a DURON 700. I have checked the CMOS for any sub-menus that may effect this but no such luck. I have also confired my cable/wire connections.
