Windows Media Player 11 Update Not Wanted

I have used Windows Media Player 10 for several years now and I believe that, although it is not perfect, it is still the best Media Player that Microsoft has come up with. For that reason, I am really fed up with Microsoft trying to force me to “upgrade” to Media Player 11. I have tried 11 and I do not like it at all. It is bloated, slow and only complicates the simple task of playing media. Is there a way to stop Windows from trying to upgrade to Media Player 11 every time I use Media Player?
