Windows NT/98 RAS connection

by ms7212 . Updated 25 years, 3 months ago

I have a NT server set as a RAS. I have out of office users who connect to access shared drives, E-mail (outlook, no exchange at all). Users dial in fine, but once connected, nothing shows in network neighborhood. They can find any machine on the network by start, find, computer, and computer name. We are running TCP/IP and IPX/SPX. I have a friend at another office who is ahving the same problem, but the users are in office and not connecting through a RAS. WINS problem? DHCP problem?
Let go into the E-mail thing a little more specifically. We are a small non-profit who cant afford all the nice extras that I would like. We have software called 602ProLANSuite that handels our proxy (1 static DSL IP shared)It also collects our POP3 and distributes to users I have defined. POP3 server is set to IP address (i.e. 4.2.x.x) works fine with Outlook 2k in office, but not for RAS users. Either server not found or TCP/IP issue error messages.Help is appreciated.
