Windows Password problems in win98

good day ppl

help me out here. tried to change the micrososft networking password and i was unable to do just that.i went to staart-settings-controll panel-password-change windows password
i got this error msg “Unable to change the password for Microsoft Networking because of the following error. This operation cannot be perfomed to your computer”

got to change it though . i went to our intranet and change it there

i was hoping u could help me with this regard and also i almost forgot this one.our networked computers get their IPs through a dhcp and all that.something strange happened today. one user complained that hshe could not access the network . i went t o the site concerned.after she has put her user name and password ,thenclicks OK and she gets this error msg “NO DOMAIN WAS AVAILABLKE TO VALIDATE YOUR PASSOWRD…….”. i then clicked OK and pinged the gateway and other outside gateways within our network and pinged a OK.opened internet and went through and also e-mail is working fine.

i was thinking of re-installing the network card or the TCP/IP stack, but i figured out that u guys can come up with a better idea.

TA in advance
